How the Design Retainer Works
A design retainer allows you to access professional graphic design services on a monthly basis.
Instead of managing one-off projects, you receive a set number of design hours each month that can be used across a wide range of needs—from marketing collateral to digital assets. Requests are prioritized, designed, refined, and delivered efficiently, helping you stay focused on your business.

Graphic Design Retainer Details
- Our design retainer program is structured to provide consistency, flexibility, and clear expectations for both sides.
- To start, we require a 3-month minimum commitment. After that initial period, we’ll evaluate the program together to ensure it’s meeting your business needs. From there, you may continue on a 6-, 9-, or 12-month commitment, based on your preference.
- Each retainer package includes a set number of design hours per week, determined by your needs and selected plan. If your monthly usage exceeds the included hours, any overage will be billed at our standard hourly rate and invoiced at the beginning of the following month.
- To manage workload and ensure availability, unused hours do not roll over and expire at the end of each month.
- Invoices are issued on the first day of each month and are due upon receipt. Each invoice includes the current month’s retainer fee along with any additional charges from the previous month.
- We actively monitor usage and will notify you if you’re approaching your monthly hour limit. If additional time is required, we’ll discuss it with you in advance so you can decide how to proceed.
- To help us plan effectively, all design requests should be submitted by the first day of each month. For example, if you need an email designed for May, please submit the request by May 1.
What’s Included in the Design Retainer Program
- Print Materials: Sales sheets, direct mailers, brochures, event programs, and signage.
- Digital Materials: Email templates, social media graphics, blog banners, and other web graphics.
- Ad Design: Print, social, and web ads.
- Social Media: Changing the header design, profile images, or service images for your social media accounts.
Please Note: The design retainer does not include stock photography, branded photography, font creation or licensing, logo design, branding, website design or development, social media management, printing, or production.
